Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton escaped the struggles that shaped her life at an early age by using her creative and imaginative imagination. Prior to learning how to read or write she wrote her own music. The guitar that she first received was presented to her when she turned eighteen. She started singing at an Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. That same year she made her debut recording for Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While still in highschool, she made her name local, but longed for an even bigger stage. The day she graduated from high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for new female vocalists for his syndicated television program at around the same as the time. Parton accepted the job and in the year 1967, she signed to RCA Records in 1968 and joined in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The band split in 1974, when her solo songs such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton recorded I Will Always love You to Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It made it to No. #1 for the first time in 1974.
