April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player American, is among a select set of females who've won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games is hoping to secure her third medal. Ross hopes to win more than her initial Olympic medal. There is a chance that this is her only chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Her confidence is high nevertheless. Ross stated via NBC Boston: "If we do our best and even If we play our best, I think we could be able to win gold." Then I will also take the chance to have chances. Ross was born in 1982 and was raised in Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began competing in sports at Newport Harbor High school. While at Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous sports. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. When she played in the final sport she stood out. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter in the court for volleyball as per her college bio. She was awarded by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the year in 1999, for her performance. The skills she showed in volleyball also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman may have started working together in the year 2017, however Ross was already an established athlete at the beach prior to when they teamed up. She's won big competitions with different players. One of them is an iconic player in the volleyball world. From 2007 until 2013, she was a team together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy Ross was a force on the international stage, claiming a world title in 2009. They won a Silver Medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor won gold, overtaking them. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she announced her retirement. The duo were able to win the beach volleyball bronze during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a college athlete at USC Trojans prior to beginning starting her professional career. She was a player in high school, as well as before hitting the beach as a professional. Her career was a success in the NCAA tournament. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year, and was also an All-American. The Trojans were also able to get to the Final Four with her help. She endured a great personal defeat in her sophomore year but was still successful in achieving the All-American title. In her last two years of participation in the Trojans program, she coached the team to win a national championship every year. She had established herself as an all-time great having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross did not see her daughter achieve the heights of beach volleyball. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to cherish her mother who died. Margie is a source of inspiration in her life and on the beaches.
