Anna Silk was the first daughter of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a playwright, actor director, producer, and teacher of St. Thomas University). Her father is from Britain, while her mother is a "Turkish Cypriot-English expat." Anna's early memories include attending play rehearsals as well as watching her mother's work. At the beginning of her career, Anna appeared on several commercials on television. Then, in November 1999 Anna moved to Toronto for the purpose of advancing her acting career, eventually moving in Los Angeles, California, within the next decade. Anna met Seth Cooperman in 2007 at an acting training in Los Angeles, and they were engaged in the year 2009. The couple was married with a civil ceremony on was held in December, and then renew their vows during an Jewish celebration in Fredericton in April 2011, after Anna's conversion to Judaism.
