Amy Smart has been a model, actress as well as a former American. She was born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modelling career there. In 1996 she debuted as an actor in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get a part for Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was very intense. Amy was unable to make the switch from modeling to acting because models aren't usually thought of as good actors. They are usually given smaller or unimportant roles. Yet, somehow Amy refused to give up and began to take on bigger roles eventually starting with the TV series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. The romantic comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her play some more notable roles. Amy was finally recognized for her efforts throughout the previous decade. Amy worked on some of the biggest film productions, such as the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
